The RPSBS Ltd. - Victorian Committee has two schemes operating
* NEWCOMER SCHEME *
* EPRO HIGHPOINT AWARDS *

________________________________________________
NEWCOMER SCHEME

This section has been introduced by the Victorian Committee to give new season ridden ponies classes at qualifying shows. The qualified ponies will be brought together at the Victorian Riding Pony Show for the Newcomer Championship.
A Newcomer will be able to compete all season at the qualifying shows in the Newcomer section even if they have won this event at a previous qualifying show. This Newcomer Section shall be an incentive for competitors to give these new season ponies a complete season under saddle in similar company.
The Newcomer Championship will be run as a Sweepstakes with all nomination fees, and a minimum of $300.00 donated by the RPSBS Ltd. - Victorian Branch at the Victorian RPSBS Show in February. The pool will be divided as follows at the RPSBS Show - Winner 65%, Second 25%, Third 10%.
Newcomers must not have been shown under saddle before 1st February to compete at the Victorian Show in the February the following year.
* Newcomers MUST be shown in a snaffle bit.
* A $22 nomination fee per pony applies.
* Nominations close 1st October each year, and ponies must be nominated PRIOR to being
* shown in this section
* Late nominations will be accepted up to 30th November with a late fee of $44.
* All nominated ponies will be issued with a performance card. The judge, at the show you qualified at MUST sign this card AT TIME OF QUALIFICATION.
Interstate Riding Pony Newcomer contenders may travel interstate to compete. For example a Riding Pony Newcomer from VIC may travel to NSW to compete in a Riding Pony Newcomer class, however if the Newcomer intends to compete at a NSW Newcomer Riding Pony Championship Final, the competitor must pay the appropriate nomination fee to the NSW Secretary for inclusion into that State's Sweepstakes Pool.

A Riding Pony Newcomer is now eligible to compete in Open Riding Pony ridden classes. Competitors have the choice of showing in the Newcomer section, the Show Pony or Show Hunter ridden section at the qualifying shows. There is no restriction on these ponies being shown in the open ring at these shows or at any other show.
